RECIPE PREPARATION Rice with milk, apples and bitter cherry jam:

Bitter cherry jam

This year, the cherries in our garden have finally borne fruit. A rich and tasty fruit. Large, fleshy, sweet and good cherries. Put the hot jam in clean glass jars with airtight lids, then cover with a thick towel and leave to cool freely, even day and night, then store in cellars or closets.

Be careful with the help of a spoon to gather what is formed while the fruit is boiling. Bring the jam to a boil until the juice is reduced by half.

To check if it is ready, pour a few drops of jam on a cold plate. If they do not flow, after reaching room temperature, it means that the jam is ready.

Put hot jam in clean jars. Close the lid tightly and turn the jars upside down. Leave them like this until they cool completely, at room temperature. In this way the jars will be emptied without the need to put them in the oven, or to boil them.

You can keep the jam in the pantry for a year.


Learn to make a bitter cherry jam

Wash the cherries, peel them and remove the seeds with a toothpick. As you clean them, put them in an enameled pan of 3-4 l, so that the juice from them is not lost. After removing the seeds, you will have about 1 kg of fruit left. Sprinkle the caster sugar over them, add the lemon juice, 2-3 cm from a vanilla stick and mix lightly.

Let them sit for 2-3 hours to let the juice, then run the pan on the fire. Boil the fruits as for any jam. Do not add water, they leave enough juice.

When the fruit floats in all the syrup, to the bottom of the pan, take the jam from the heat, gather the foam, cover it and, after it has cooled, put it in jars.

As you can see, this bitter cherry jam it does not require much effort, and the taste will surely surprise you in a pleasant way.
